He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores J.; his son James Aukerman; and his sisters, Mildred Jean Marks and Phyllis Evelyn Schaffer. He is survived by: his children, Patricia A. Kane (late Thomas), Margaret J. Read, Sandra L. Rogers (Robert) and Kenneth R. Aukerman; his grandchildren, T. J., Melanie, Kimberly, Christopher, Jacqueline, April, Jay Jr. and Erik; his great grandchildren, Sydney, Joey, Shawn, Darius, Cadence, Garrett, Payton, Seth, Abigail, Nicolette, Lily, Marin and Jay III; and his niece Carolyn.
In lieu of flowers, Ernie requested contributions in his memory be made to Our Lady of Hope Parish Building Fund.
