He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Joseph Scalia and Ann Carol Scalia; and his pet Sadie. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Lisa Jordan-Scalia; his children, Nathaniel Joseph and Emily Francesca; his sisters, Carol Ann Bunce of Amherst, NY and Susan Marie (Ron Flanders) of Franklin Park, PA; his parents-in-law, Frank and Rosy Jordan of Manhattan, NY; and his brother-in-law Michael Jordan of Manhattan, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

“Our hearts are filled with sorrow and saddness to hear of Joe's passing. Being patients of his for 25 years, he allowed us to call him Joe. We loved him like a brother and will surely miss him. We cannot begin to tell you how very, very sorry we are for your loss. We will miss his beautiful smile and the jokes we shared.
