He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Donna Campesi; his children, Caterina Sirena Campesi-Cohen (Jared) and Fortunato Joseph Campesi (Marina); his siblings, Rosa Martirano, Antonio Campesi, Michael Campesi and Antonia Pugliese; his grandchildren, Jonah Gabirel Cohen, Giavanna Rose Cohen, Mia Campesi, Cara Campesi, Gianluca Campesi and Ava Campesi; and his stepgrandsons, Theodore and Alexander Karounos.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Riewerts Memorial (187 S Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ 07621). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church (259 Oliver St, Newark, NJ 07105). An entombment was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Glendale Cemetery (28 Hoover Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003).

“My name is Anthony Pellegrino (Antonio). Joe and I were best of friends and spent many hours together. I will miss him. I'm sorry that I missed his wake and funeral mass, but I did not find out that he had died until late Saturday. I wish to have seen on last time. My condolence to all the family members.”
