He was predeceased by: his wife Ann M. Swartz; and his sister Mary Tinari. He is survived by: his children, John J. "Jack" Swartz, Jr. (Lisa), Michele Nowlen (Andrew) and Lisa Myers (Brian); his grandchildren, Justin, Aaron Nowlen, Amanda, Robert Swartz, Brooke, Ava and Breanne Myers; and his great grandchild Willow Nowlen.
