He was predeceased by: his brother James Callahan; and his grandson Adam. He is survived by: his children, James J. Callahan of Lansing, MI, John F. Callahan of Vernon, Teresa Lowry of Hillsborough and Laura McTeague of Matawan; and his sister Linda Callahan. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's research.
