He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Rock and Blanche Rock; his siblings, Blanche Cagle and Eugene "Gene" Rock; and his stepson Carl Harris.

He is survived by: his siblings, James Rock Jr. (Jean) and Ora "Bootsie" Yates; his former wife Dorothy Hill; his children, Doreen Agosto and Donald Rock (Rosa); his stepson Chad Harris (Nakeya); his grandchildren, Matthew Agosto (Lynn), Shiann Brooks, Crystal Cruz and DJ Rock; and his great grandchildren, Raymond and Nicholas Agosto. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.
