She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Rogers Randolph and Loura Early (Leer); her children, Roger David Hardesty and Loura Dale Turner; and her grandson Mark Turner. She was also cherished by six other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Following 1984 retirement, she launched the Hardesty Foundation and engaged in philanthropy favoring education and the environment.
