He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Shinko and Rose Shinko; his wife Beverly; and his son Jeffrey David. He is survived by: his daughters, Michele Shinko and Debbie Vincent; his friends, James McCarthy and Quentin Van Buren; his siblings-in-law, James and Suzanne Kersikofski; and his child God Church.
