He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur T. Hellwig and Dorothy Hellwig (Dill); his wife Dr. Sharon Donahue Hellwig; his children, Bart Hellwig (Connie), Day Hellwig, Bo Hellwig (Dana Gibson), Kristen Glick (Philip) and Bradford Hellwig (Carla); his brother Robert Hellwig (Antje); and his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Allison Glick, Alexander, Leah Hellwig, Stephanie and Kyle Gibson.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in his honor to Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue Squad or the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust.
