Carl Neiper Sr. Obituary
Carl Neiper, Sr., 84, of Bayville, NJ and formerly of Old Forge, PA, was born Carlo Neiper on June 15, 1937 and died Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at JFK Medical Center, Edison NJ. His wife of 58 years, Betty Jane (Stull) Neiper, preceded him in death in 2021.
Born in Old Forge, PA son of the late Viola S (Stallo) Neiper and the late Richard E. Neiper, who died May 14, 1937 prior to his birth, Carl was a faithful follower of the Christian faith in both PA & NJ. He was a parishioner of Saint Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. Carl was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1956. There he played varsity football for the Old Forge Blue Devils weighing in at 220lbs. He was an offensive guard and tackle on defense. While in high school Carl served two years in the Army National Guard. Upon graduation, he served four years in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a radar operator and was honorably discharged. Carl married his sweetheart, whom he met at Clarolight in Scranton. They settled in South Plainfield, NJ where they lived for 40 years; then, Bayville, NJ for 10 years.
Carl was a resident at Menlo Park Memorial Veterans Home Edison, NJ since 2021. He is retired from the Campbell Soup Company North East Products South Plainfield, NJ where he worked as a warehouse supervisor.
He was a devoted and fun loving husband, father and grandfather. Carl was a gentleman, the kind of man who offered a handkerchief he carried in his pocket and opened doors. He was a provider, handyman, mechanic, fisherman, outdoorsman, baseball and football coach, scout leader, friend, comedian, story teller, mentor, and all around good and kind human. Carl was the creme de la creme of people and will be greatly missed by all whom he'd touched.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Gerald and Richard Neiper; sons, Vincent James and Sgt. Thomas Neiper USMC; granddaughter, Cassandra Rose Giuliano; and many other beloved family & friends.
Surviving are sons, Carl Jr and wife Jodi of Piscataway, David of Manchester; daughter, Pamela of Bayville, NJ; grandchildren, Jennifer, Caryn, Danny, Corey & Carly; and, in addition, many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews & friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all dedicated doctors, nurses, clinicians and caregivers. Special thanks are given to Menlo Park Memorial Veterans Home, Edison, NJ, for their care and dedication to US Veterans and their families.
The funeral will begin Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:30 AM from Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services, LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Mary's Church (Prince of Peace Parish), 123 W. Grace St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. August A. Ricciardi, pastor. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
