He was predeceased by: his brother Donald North; and his parents, Rosemarie Mahan and Richard J. North, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Politowski; his daughter Victoria North Brenneman; his daughter-in-law Laura Brenneman; his grandson Luke Brenneman; his siblings, Judy Guido, Maureen Ali, Kevin and William North; and also Luke.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to two charities that were close to Richie's heart. The Bright Focus Foundation supports macular degeneration research, and to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which offers housing for the families of Veterans and first responders.
