He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Vardakis and Eleni Vardakis; his brothers, Paul (Thea) and Alex (Angie); his sister-in-law Alexandra; and his niece Elena.

He is survived by: his wife Helen A. Vardakis (Ayvalopoulos); his sons, Peter Vardakis (Becky) and Christo Vardakis (Kiki); his grandchildren, James, Thomas, Georgios and Eleni; his brother Fotios Vardakis; and his nieces and nephews, Penelope, Milton, Philip and Cathy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the SS.
