We are sad to announce that on January 19, 2024, Claire A Shamey of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, born in New York, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Cox and Catherine Cox; her husband James Shamey; and her siblings, Helen Vislocky, Marie Clark and Gerard Cox.

She is survived by: her children, Caryn Shamey of Sugar Hill, NH, Joanne Shamey of Newport, OR, Joseph Shamey (Linda) of Seal Rock, OR, Gerard Shamey (Jane) of Basking Ridge, NJ and Lauren Katz (Jerome Katz) of Point Pleasant, NJ; her grandchildren, Zachary Johnk, Rachel Montgomery (Shamey) and Samuel Johnk; her great grandchild Callie Johnk; and her sisters, Catherine Resko, Bernadette Korchak and Margaret Pandolfi.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at http://www.stjude.org.
