Peter Stephen Turnamian Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Stephen Turnamian of Barnegat, New Jersey, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth (Carneg Turnamian) and NJ; and his brother-in-law Reeni Taylor (Charley). He is survived by: his children, Bethanne Toci (David), Christine McArthur (Thomas) and Michael Turnamian (Allison); his grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda Toci, Ryan, Sean, Ava McArthur, Ella, Jack and Lily Turnamian; his brother Alexander (Joan); his cousin Raymond (Millie); and his sisters-in-law, Karen Brown (Art) and Wendy Hess-Chrisostomou (Chris). He is also survived by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org)® or your local youth sports organization, in honor of his passion for mentoring and coaching youth sports. “I played football for Pete at Teaneck HS in the 1970's and have some very fond memories of those times. It was a challenging environment, usually playing against larger schools in the old NNJIL, but he was a smart, caring - though sometimes fiery - coach and leader who did his best to promote opportunities for many of us during and beyond high school. (Brother Alex, coaching at Bergenfield, got the better of us more often than not!) RIP, Pete - you will be missed by many. Roger Tarras, THS '74”
