He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Sweeney; his parents, Charles D. and Alice B. Sweeney Sr. (Schafer); and his sister Mary Jane Fry. He is survived by: his children, Charles D. "Dave" Sweeney of New Egypt and Sharon A.; his son-in-law Christopher G. Smalley of Lanoka Harbor; his grandchildren, Alex K., Eric C., Chelsea L., Morgan R. Smalley, Kyle P. and Megan K. Sweeney; and his brother John E. Sweeney of North Carolina. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
