He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Maurath and Mary Maurath; his wife Nanette Maurath; and his sisters, Mary and Dorothy Ann.

He is survived by: his children, Nanette "Nan" Maurath of Avenel, Douglas Maurath of Avenel and Suzanne Smith (Kevin) of Colonia; his siblings, Harry Maurath of Manahawkin, Richie Maurath of Ireland, Mericia Maurath of North Brunswick, Margie Lamanna of North Brunswick, Don Maurath of East Brunswick, Ed Maurath of Maryland and Donna Abbruscato of Mays Landing; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Breanne, Carissa, Nick and Abigayle.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home - Avenel (399 Avenel St, Avenel, NJ 07001). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (399 Avenel St, Avenel, NJ 07001). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Saint Andrew Catholic Church (244 Avenel St, Avenel, NJ 07001). An entombment will be held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at the St. Gertrude's Cemetery (53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067).
