He was predeceased by: his father Edward William Gelpke; his brother Edward Gelpke; and his brother-in-law Paul Abate. He is survived by: his sons, Steven Gelpke of Avenel and Scott Gelpke (Cassandra) of Spotswood; his mother Ann Gelpke; his siblings, David Gelpke, John Gelpke (Barbara), Diane Flatley (Robert), Carol Scarano (Joseph), Marie Abate, Ann Giordano (James) and Thomas Gelpke; and his grandchildren, Autumn Austria, Peter Gelpke and Logan Austria.
