He was predeceased by: his wife Mary E. Petersen (Patrick); his parents, Oscar Petersen and Marie Petersen (Driesbach); and his brother George David Petersen. He is survived by: his children, Judy Schumann (Tom), Hope Kanaley, J. Richard Petersen, Jr. (Carol) and Karen Pass (Brian). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
