“Dear Betsy, Billy, Alicia and Kevin, We are so sorry about Bill's passing. We will be attending the service virtually but want you to know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers and have been for the past several weeks. Bill, and you Betsy were a couple we watched when we were young. Your example as Christ followers and young parents had quite an impact on us. We watched you, we grew, and so enjoyed your company. Thanks for befriending a couple of teenagers like us.”

Charles F. Samuel, Sr. wrote a sympathy message

“I was heartstruck hearing of Bill's passing. We just reconnected by social media after nearly 50 years. We played together in a band called Horizon from late 1969 to early 1971. It was a good band and Bill's singing and playing drove the heart of the band. He was a nice guy at Audubon HS and in the band. I know all will miss his smiling face and caring personality. Thank you to the Scully family for sharing him with us. As a fellow musician, I will remember him always.”
