He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie David and Mae Mary Smeal. He is survived by: his wife Lutricia; and his children, Sherry Swartzwelder (Bruce), James G. Smeal, Jr. (Mary Alice), Britton M. Smeal (Joyce) and Robin Hogan. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.
