He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Nunez and Francisco Nunez; his wife Iona Slack; his son Jamie Nunez Jr.; and his siblings, Flex Nunez, José Nunez, Hermano Nunez, Angel Nunez, Lus Nunez, Norma Nunez, Aida Nunez, Ana Nunez, Carmen "Cana" Nunez and Alejandria "Aleja" Nunez.
He is survived by: his close friend Ada Munoz; his children, Lydia Rodriguez, Jose Nunez, Joel Nunez, Autum Stokes, Arien Stokes and Anthony Stokes; and his siblings, Francisco "Paquito" Nunez, Jr., Virgilio "Cholo" Nunez, Gladys Nunez, Migdalia "Mindy" Nunez and Maria Nunez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren & 21 Great-Grandchildren.
