He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Elaine Jay; his mother Helen Virginia Mister; his stepmother Willie Mae Purnell; his siblings-in-law, Clyde Rogers and Betty Mister; and his daughter-in-law Joanne Epps.
He is survived by: his close friend Barbara Massey of Atlantic City; his stepchildren, Lamont Jay of Shamong and Shelia Jay of Oakland, California; and his siblings, Hattie Rogers of Atlantic City, Lucinda Evans (Jerome) of Pleasantville, Clifford Mister of Toms River, Nathaniel Mister (Elsie), Maurice Purnell (Maretta) of Dover, Dorothy Richo (Floyd) of Stockton, Shylene Jubilee of Felton, Joanna Purnell of Snowhill, Francine Coston of Stockton and Arlene Purnell (Calvin) of Berlin, Maryland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
