He was predeceased by: his parent Rangaswamy Iyengar. He is survived by: his wife Srimathi Varadarajan; his daughters, Vinitha Varadarajan Shruthi (Mahesh Shastry) and Krithika Varadarajan (Ramji Rengarajan); his grandchildren, Kavi, Surya, Ashwathi, Abhinaya and Partha; and his siblings, Narasimhan Thirumalai, Prabhakar Thirumalai, Vijayaraghavan Thirumalai, Vijayalakshmi Kr and Vathsala Seshadri.
