He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Freni and Anna Freni. He is survived by: his wife Norma Freni; his children, JoAnn Rosario (Anthony DiBerardino) and John D. Feni (Deborah); his grandchildren, Jennifer Rosario, Joseph Rosario (Koryn), John D. Freni, Jr. (Amanda) and Colleen Martino (Jason); and his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Sabrina Kent, Quinn, Mateo Rosario, Isabella, Natalie Freni, Mason and Logan Martino.
