He was predeceased by: his mother Edith Ricks. He is survived by: his cousin Phillip McCray; his wife Alyce; his children, Dr. Sharon D. Ricks and Gregory S. Ricks; his grandchild Trevon Ricks; his great grandchild Jeramih Ricks; his sisters-in-law, Jessiemae Jones-Ricks and Wilhelmina Simpson; and his friends, Horace Brooks (Eartha) and Phillip McCray. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
In 2006, Sidney was honored as Man of the Year for his exceptional contributions to the church community, a recognition he held with great pride.
