He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Brown and Mabel Brown; and his siblings, Lewis Brown, Ora Lee Reed, Louise Milton (Vandell, Eddie James), John Brown (Maryanne, Laura Everett) and Dennis Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Birdie" Brown; his children, Calvin Brown (Glenda) and Tina Brown; his brothers, William Brown (Gloria, Nathan Brown), Alexander Redmond and Michael Redmond (Tera); his siblings-in-law, James Everett, Emma Brown and Johnette Brown; his grandchildren, Jessica L. Vernon (Harry, Janine Zow), Calvin Brown, Jr. and Frances Jackson (Philip); and his great grandchildren, Jordan Vernon, Aubrey Zow, Chase Vernon, Cassidy Vernon, Gabriel Zow, Ava Vernon and Maisyn Zow.
