He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vivian Shaw and Katherine Shaw; his wife Ruth Irene Shaw; his daughters, Lynne Spinks of Germantown, MD, Jill Lewis (Joe) and Judith Cottrell (David III); his grandchildren, John Jr., Jerel, David IV (Judy) and Victoria; his great grandchildren, Jashyr, Josiah, Aaliyah, Faith, Saiyvonni, Devina and Christopher; and his close friend Celestine Overbey.
