He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Brooks and Rowena Hitchner (Jarman); his wife Nancy Hitchner; and his siblings, Bruce, John Hitchner and Arlene Coleman.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Mitchell (Stephen), Margaret DeMaris (George), Charles Hitchner, Jr. (Deborah) and Cathy DeHart (Michael); his grandchildren, Kirby (Danielle), Kelsey (Joey), Charlie III, Matthew, Emily, Ben, Abigail, Lydia and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Gannon and Bristol; and his siblings, Helen Sickler, Betty Anne Dolson, Stella Williams (Donald), Mary Lou Catania, Alberta Simkins (Karl) and Gary Hitchner (Shirley). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
