She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Carlin Platt and Irene Platt (Fenton); her husband W. Martin Hammell (Marty); and her siblings, Vern Platt and Cissie Erickson.
She is survived by: her children, Lance Hammell (Winnie) of Dennisville, NJ and Lydia (Jesus Alvarez) of Moorestown, NJ.; and her great grandchildren, Noah Alvarez, Olivia Alvarez, Brett Alvarez, Marti Maxwell (Greg), Kelsey Hafele (Derrick) and David Hammell (Ikuko).
Due to covid restrictions a memorial service for Shirley will be held at The First Baptist Church of Beverly for the immediate family only.
