It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John W. Townsend Sr. of Absecon, New Jersey, who passed away on December 4, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edmund Madden and Rebecca C. Townsend (Conover); his wife Ellene A. Townsend (Hand); his children, John W. Townsend, Jr. (Joanne), Laurene Feriozzi (Joe) and Ellene Weaver (Chris); his grandchildren, Taryn (Jason), Jenna, Brooke, Taylor (Richard), Joe Jr. (Kim), Laurene, Jennifer (Ryan), Leslie (Waleed), Alyssa (Joe) and Kyle; and his great grandchildren, Baya, Madison, Jax, Reef, Jason, Johnny, Jack, Martino, Ryan Jr., Joey, Milani, Joe III, Rylee, Milo, Noah, Ava and Iris. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
