It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edith Evelyn Hastings of Woodsville, New Hampshire, born in Hanover, New Hampshire, who passed away on January 5, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, H. Dewey Chase and Marion Chase (Batchelder) of Orford, NH.; her husband Carroll T. Hastings; and her brother Harold. She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Mackin (Robert) of Barre, VT, Pamela Hastings of Concord, NH, Wendy Gray (Richard Pollock) of Bradford, VT and Laurie Catanzaro (Victor) of Poughkeepsie, NY.; her grandchildren, James Mackin (Melody), Elizabeth Mackin, Kara Moore (Ryan), Amanda Catanzaro and Michael Catanzaro; and her great grandchildren, Mali, Elliana and Cora. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial contributions can be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue, 1517 Meadow Street, Littleton, NH 03561, or Woodsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 15, Woodsville, NH 03785.

“So sorry for your sad loss. Our mothers were lifelong best friends & through them our families enjoyed fun times together as we grew up. I'm so glad I was able to go spend a little time visiting with Edie in the days after Mom's funeral. I will always fondly remember seeing her & Mom together sharing memories & their love of art. I have fond memories of a day spent with Edie at her farm while my Mom was at work, she helped me paint my first oil painting that day. -Carolyn (Tatham) Rakestraw”
