He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard R. Durkee, Jr. and Louise Durkee (Thayer); and his sister Nancy Ethier (Rick). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Durkee (Rich); his children, Richard "Rick" Durkee, IV (Rene) and Kristin Landry (Paul Landry) of Winchester; his sisters-in-law, Susan Perrigo and Barbara Brewer; his stepgranddaughter Monique Landry; his grandson Richard F. Durkee; and also Jackson of Tracadie-Sheila, Canada. He is also survived by step grandchildren in Maine, and several nieces and nephews.
