He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth (Phelps) and Harold Burt Jr.; and his brother David Burt. He is survived by: his wife Lindsey E. Burt of Winchester; his daughters, Elizabeth R. Angrove (Dean) of Granville, N. Y, Sarah L. Sentoni of North Adams, MA. and Joanne E. Kingsley (Tristan) of Ocala, FL.; and his sisters, Rosemary Kampher (Richard) of Lebanon and Sheila Thurston (Jim) of Hancock, VT.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
