He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Dane (Levinsworth) and Edward Dane Sr.. He is survived by: his brother John Dane (Geraldine) of York, SC.; and his extended family, Thomas Kelly II, William Kelly III, Kathryn Kelly-Scoville and Brenda C. Kelly of Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joseph's name to the Monadnock Humane Society.
