He was predeceased by: his brothers, Robert Downing and Charles Walker. He is survived by: his parents, Richard L. Sr. and Elsie Downing (Krahenbruhl); his spouse Janet M. Downing (Dyke) of Wentworth; his children, Stephen L. Downing of New York City, NY, Amy J. Downing (Christine Stymus) of Wentworth and Christine M. DeLangie (John) of Auburn, NH; his grandsons, Maxwell DeLangie and Luke DeLangie; and his sister Shirley Ziegler (Gaylin) of Discovery Bay, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
