He is survived by: his wife Dr. Judith Simpson of Durham, NH; his children, Joseph John Simpson II and Marlaine Fiocco; his grandchildren, Megan Smith, Tara DiSandro and Joseph DiSandro; his stepsons, Jeffrey French and Jonathan French; his grandchildren, Chelsey French, Lyndsey French, Alixandra Folse and Nathaniel French; and his great grandchildren, Evan LeMay, Olivia Rose Coffman and Thea June Folse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joe's name to the Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, 789 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.
