He is survived by: his parents, Woodrow W. Flanders and Alice Flanders (Allen); his son Herbert W. Flanders; his wife Marilla Flanders (Temple); his children, Brenda Starkey of Spencer, WV, Edward L. Flanders, Jr. of Newport, NH and Ricky A. Flanders of Warner, NH; and his siblings, Charlotte Rudolph of Nova Scotia, Jerry Flanders of Newport, NH and John Flanders of Warner, NH. He is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
