Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Richard Nilsen (Tilton, New Hampshire), born in Damariscotta, Maine, who passed away at the age of 85, on April 30, 2018. He was predeceased by: his former wife Elizabeth. He is survived by: his parents, Lorain Marion Nilsen and Helen Shirley Nilsen (Blair); his wife Majella Nilsen (Turcotte) of Tilton, NH; his son Richard A. Nilsen (Kris) of Franklin, NH; his stepchildren, Michael Desautel (Debbie) of Inverness, FL, Michelle Tahiri of Inverness, FL, Cheryl Gosselin (Patrick) of Bow, NH and Charyn Miller (Robert); his grandchildren, Arika Dunn (Collin), Melanie Desautel, Lauren Desautel, Malik Tahiri, Mirabelle Tahiri, Kimberly Gosselin, Stephanie Gosselin and Lindsey Miller; and his brother Robert Nilsen (Joan) of Palmer, AK. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at a later date at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH Donations in memory of Dick may be made to Franklin Animal Shelter, 19 Rescue Rd., Franklin, NH 03235.

“I had lost touch with my cousin Dick and am ever so sorry to learn of his passing. I’ve sent cards and letters which were not answered or returned these past few years. Dickie called me when I lived in Florida but I was in San Jose CA with my sister when he was in FL. Johanna and I spent summers with Aunt Helen and Uncle Lorain as children. Loved my cousin and will see him again one day. Christina Helson. My mother Marian Nilsen Helson Hawkes was Dick’s fathers sister, a graduate of Lincoln”
