He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph L. Scharf and Francis E. Weber; his siblings, Francis Warden and Ernest G Scharf; and his son Eric G Scharf (Patrica Kelsey Scharf).
He is survived by: his sons, Ted K. Scharf of Augusta, Scott W. Scharf (Susan) of Portland and Steven C. Scharf of Portland, Maine.; and his sister Pauline Desrochers.
In lieu of flowers, John asked that donations be made to Resident Benefits fund, New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter Street Tilton, NH 03276 A service of internment will be held at The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH 03303, Friday February 7th at 2:00 PM.
