As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Derek William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Long and Vera A. Long (Cracknell). He is survived by: his wife Denise Long (Jester) of Temple, NH; his sons, Andrew Long (Martina) of Unity, NH and Gregory Long (Jean) of Milford, NH; and his siblings, Virginia Curcia (Jack) of Leesburg, FL, Cindi Adams of New Market, VA and Malcolm Long (Sara) of Elkins, WV. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, Derek's family encourages everyone to donate blood to the American Red Cross, just as Derek did throughout his life, in hopes of making a difference and hopefully saving someone's life in a very simple way.
