He is survived by: his parents, Ronald E. Bates and Donna M. Bates (Richard); his daughter Vanessa Bates; his siblings, Candice Ward (Bates) and Kerri Bates; his close friend Renee; and his grandparents, Paul Richard of Lynn, MA and Mary Commerford of Beverly, MA.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and the many friends.
