He was predeceased by: his parents, Giovanni "John" Scalia and Concetta Scalia (D'Agata); his sons, William DeMonaco and Timothy DeMonaco; and his siblings, Lena D'Agata, Stella LaSpina, Carmen Scalia and Josephine Scalia.
He is survived by: his significant other Barbara Scalia (McNulty); his children, John Scalia of Springfield, VA, Christine Bohenko (Tom Shanley) of Chelmsford, MA, David Scalia (Charlene) of Tyngsboro, MA and Marguerite Sciuto (Anthony) of Methuen, MA; his grandchildren, Gregory D. Bohenko (Tess), Jacob Bohenko, Johnna Scalia, David E. Scalia, Michael Scalia and Louis Sciuto; and his great grandchild Alexis Kennedy Bohenko. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Entombment will follow at St. Mary - Immaculate conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street, Lawrence. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
