She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ralph Smith and Helen Smith (Borjeson); her husband James W. Hickey; her daughters, Martha Jane (James Hickey) and Maureen Hickey Welch; her sisters, Marjorie Happnie, Phyllis Foster, Shirley Richards and Sylvia Darling; her children, Kathleen Hickey Lennon, Daniel Hickey, Eileen Norrington (Giles), Kevin Hickey (Catherine Schillinger), Rita Hickey (Patrick Logan) and Michael Hickey (Colleen); and also Christine Trofatter. She was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
