He was predeceased by: his parents, Michaelangelo Canto and Rose Canto (Marguerite); and his siblings, Connie Platania, Charles Canto and Marie Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Mary V. Canto (Cain); his sister Cora Diodati of Andover, MA; his children, Lynda M. Canto of Methuen, MA, Rosemary Caredo (late Ronald) of Salem, NH, Michael T. Canto of Oakland, CA, Carole A. Somma (Patrick) of Andover, MA and Thomas C. Canto (Catherine) of North Andover; and his grandchildren, Jason, Kelly, Christopher, Nicole, Jade, Chelsea, Jaclyn, Alexis, Taylor, Michael, Matthew, Katie and Zachary. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
