He was predeceased by: his siblings, Gerry Hamel, Leo Hamel and Claire Waterworth. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Hamel (Choquette) of Salem, NH; his children, Richard P. Hamel, Jr. (Diana) of Southborough, MA and Dawn Norma McGuire (Joshua) of Salem, NH; his granddaughters, Evangeline, Emily, Bailey and Charlotte; his sisters, Gloria Hamel of Plaistow, NH and Suzanne Hamel of Lunenburg, MA; his siblings-in-law, Janet Hamel of Methuen, MA, John Waterworth of Dracut, MA and Paulette Redmond (Ed); and his close friend Norman Beaulieu. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
