He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Mahoney, (Larsen) and John Mahoney, Sr.; his wife Diane E. Mahoney (Whyte); his son Stephen Mahoney; and his siblings, Carol Mahoney, Buddy Mahoney, Robert Mahoney, Paul Mahoney, David Mahoney, Janet Gruttner and Elaine Rooney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia (Michael Bucciero) and Susan (Scott Bucciero); his grandchildren, John, Lisa, Kelley, James, Nicole and Emily; his great grandchildren, Noah, Vivian, Evelyn, Craig and Steven; and his siblings, James Mahoney, Phyllis Flynn and Betty Byrne.
