He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alkeenon Nichols and Elizabeth Nichols (Haycock); his wife Marianne J. Nichols (Lariviere); his children, Susan (Steve Fowler), Doris Murphy, Lynette (Steve Arnold), Wanda (John Chamberlin) and Maurice A. Nichols, Jr. (Donna); and his siblings, Randy (Laurie Nichols) and Donna (Ky Goslin). He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
