He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norris Bean and Irma Bean (Granton); his sister Eleanor; his son Jeff; his wife Mary; his brother Marshall; his stepdaughter Sheila Sullivan; his sons, Christopher and Jeffrey Bean; and his stepchildren, John, Kevin Sullivan, Anne Sullivan and Kathleen Lane. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
