He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip E. Matthews and Shirley "Joyce" Matthews; and his siblings, Mark, Blaine Matthews and Lisa Whalen.
He is survived by: his daughter Shaunna Matthews; his granddaughter Ashley Matthews; his sisters, Lynne Littlefield (Bruce), Lori Mick (David Of) and Linda Bowser (Eric); and his close friend Sharon Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
