He was predeceased by: his brothers, Glendon and Roland; and his grandson Cassidy Carmichael. He is survived by: his son Phillip Carmichael; his wife Carol; his daughter-in-law Wendy Dowaliby Carmichael; his daughter Heather (Roger Eichorn); his grandson Ashlon; his brother Jessie; and his sister-in-law Claudette. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and lifelong friends.
